Outdoor Party Games
There is something out there for everyone and that statement is
very true when it comes to outdoor party games. Outdoor
games are very suitable for all parties that take
place entirely outdoors or where there is a yard available and
it is a great way of bringing all the guests together and
creating quality time with friends and family, as well as a
memorable party that will not be forgotten by anyone invited.
Of course there is another hidden benefit of playing outdoor
party games and that is the fact that they are either
completely free of costs or require only minimal materials that
are more than likely already available in the home.
Although there are different types of parties, such as
formal or child’s birthday, but one thing that almost every
party has in common is the simple fact that it should be fun.
Children and adults both love to have fun at a party and a
great and easy way of integrating the fun factor into just
about every gathering is to include outdoor party games. One
way to let everyone participate is to decide on outdoor games
that allow for teams and even more than two in case there are
many people attending a party. It is even possible to set up
party tournaments and let the different teams play against each
other and at the end have a small gift prepared for the winning
team. Great gifts could be a small gift certificate for a
coffee shop or even something simple such as a bag of candy.
For children it is even a good idea to offer small toys as
awards.
Many people remember games from their childhood that they
played in school or with friends and relatives. Although most
are still fun to play and quite suitable for a party, there are
still many games that are new or there are newer versions of
classic outdoor party games. It is worthwhile to look into more
games, because there is always a chance that something fun to
play has not been discovered yet. The internet is the
best source for finding outdoor games and also party games.
There are many websites that offer databases of games and
instructions on how to play, but because of the many websites
it is best to first select a few that have the most to offer.
This reduces the chances of forgetting where instructions were
found and also the shorter the list means it is easier to keep
things clear and organized. There are also books that contain
party games and many of which can also be played outside,
however books are usually specific for adults or children so
depending on the age range of the guests it may be necessary to
keep a couple of books on hand.
Birthday parties are known for their games and it doesn’t
really matter if the one celebrating is young or old. There are
many games standard for birthday parties and which provide
guests of all ages to participate. There is, for example, the
game Balloon Pop, Pin the Tail on the Donkey or Musical Chairs
which can easily be played outside during most of the year.
During the winter months there is the problem in northern areas
of snow and ice, however, even for these conditions there are
outdoor party games which are suitable for a birthday party and
the only requirement is that everyone is dressed accordingly. A
perfect game for the wintertime would be Snowball War or Fox
and Geese which is just a snow version of the well known tag.
Of course there are many other occasions other than for a
birthday that provide opportunities to play outdoor party
games. Halloween, Christmas or even bridal showers are also
great times to set aside game times.
Outdoor party games generally do not require elaborate
setups in order to be ready. Some games, such as Charades or
Tag do not need any extra materials, just the participants. The
majority can be done with minimal extras, such as Balloon Pop
requires only a bag or two of balloons and this number depends
on the number of guests playing so it is possible that a small
bag of balloons for under a dollar will suffice. Others, like
Dodge Ball, need only a ball or two to play or Tether Ball
which makes use of a pole, string, ball and a couple of sticks.
None of these materials are unique or unusual and more than
likely already are part of the household game arsenal. Other
outdoor party games can be made without much effort and even
children are capable of helping out. One example of such a game
would be Pin the Tail on the Donkey and one only has to draw a
donkey on a piece of paper and create a few donkey tails on
tacks or pins.
There are so many possibilities when it comes to outdoor
party games. They are not only fun and bring guests together,
but they are also versatile and there are variations for every
season, occasion and holiday. Even if there is a very unique
reason for a party, then one just has to be imaginative and
create a unique outdoor party game.
